Committee Members Profiles

Tony Brook - President

Tony Brook

Raised in Auckland, but having lived in Hamilton since 1989, I am married to Louise, we have two awesome boys who keep me fairly well grounded, I am lucky enough to have been there to enjoy every stage in their lives so far, I think this helps to keep me young at heart.

I was introduced to Hypnotherapy by a past student of the NZ School of Clinical Hypnotherapy, and this is where I also trained and Graduated in 2002, Since then I have enjoyed the challenge of working with an incredible range of issues and with clients of all ages, from children as young as 5 up to the elderly.

I believe that our Society has a critical part to play in promoting the interests of its members in the community, the Health sector and the Government, and that is why I have been involved on the executive committee, as the Treasurer for the last 6 years, and now as President. I enjoy being part of the committee and the contact with membership and as you all know the committee is a voluntary job, but one which does also require your support and assistance. I urge each and everyone to also put some time and effort to support your President and committee to help further your interests this year.

My motto - the more you learn, the more there is to learn – and the better you are able to help those in need.

Imogen Hurlock

I am proud to be a clinical hypnotherapist practising in the North (Whangarei).

While studying a psychology degree, I became interested in joining the helping profession as a counsellor. Enquiries in this area led me to hypnotherapy - the possibility of helping people to get their desired change in a short space of time convinced me that being the best hypnotherapist that I can be is the best way that I can help people.

I am fortunate to be a member on the NZSCAH committee with a dynamic and experienced team of people keen on advancing hypnotherapy to help more people.

I graduated in 2008 and became a committee member in 2009 and I am passionate about, and committed to, on-going training.

Chris Jacques

I first became seriously interested in Hypnotherapy in 2002 when it was introduced to me as a method of managing pain. After obtaining good results myself, I then contacted the New Zealand School of Clinical Hypnotherapy and soon after began studying Hypnotherapy in 2003. After 3 years of study I graduated with a Diploma of Clinical Hypnotherapy.

Since then my study has continued as I explore the increasing possibilities of the applications of Hypnotherapy. I operate my own clinic called the Hypnotherapy and Mind Expansion Clinic, in which emphasis is placed on education, perception and retraining the mind and the way we think. My clinic is centrally located in the lower South Island, as I am based 5 minutes walk from downtown Wanaka. I have been a member of the New Zealand Society of Clinical and Applied Hypnotherapy since 2003 and became a member of the NZSCAH committee in 2008.
